The VOIPFUTURE system is a passive mid-point monitoring solution for VoIP services. It comprises of distributed RTP Monitoring probes and the central Application Manager. Non-intrusive test access ports (TAPs) connect the probes to the network. The probes analyze all RTP packets on a link in real-time and generate a unique voice metric. The Application Manager collects the metric data to correlate and post-process all information. A central part of the Application Manager is its data warehouse where all KPIs and metric data are stored and provided to other OSS/BSS applications.

Together these components constitute the most powerful RTP monitoring solution on the market that integrates accurate voice quality monitoring and effective root cause analysis. The highly scalable probes are typically deployed at aggregation points in a network and at the border to other networks. This setup caters for a plethora of important applications in the area of network performance management and customer experience management that rely on detailed voice quality information.

The system architecture is carrier-grade and scales even to the largest VoIP networks. Each probe can monitor multiple 1 GbE or 10 GbE network links at full respectively half line rate. The central Application Manager is capable of processing data relating to billions of call minutes.

The VOIPFUTURE software for RTP Monitoring Probes and the Application Manager comes pre-installed on certified and tested VOIPFUTURE appliances. These appliances are based on standard servers from known hardware manufacturers such as IBM, HP and Dell. The available appliances cover a complete spectrum of customer and application scenarios ranging from selective enterprise deployments to monitoring of entire carrier networks.
